Welcome to The Heathers Nursery.

We are a community nursery, run by an elected committee of parents who employ the staff to run and manage the sessions.

The nursery operates in a mobile and in a classroom within Heather Avenue First School and is registered with The Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) for up to 22 children per session per room between the ages of 2 years 6 months and 5 years.

We are monitored and assessed by OFSTED.

We use the Tapestry Online Learning Journal system to keep children’s learning stories.

All children attending The Heathers Nursery have a personal on-line Learning Story which records photos, observations and comments, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, to build up a record of your child’s experiences during their time with us.

We use Tapestry, an online system which is hosted in the UK on secure servers.

You will have secure access (via email address and password) to your child’s Learning Story and, in addition to viewing our contributions, we encourage you to add to it by uploading photos and comments, or commenting on observations made by us.
